Just Friends Build 0.70 update soon!
Hey there guys. If you're a patron of mine you should already know by now that Just Friends is now updated for Godot 4.4. And with that, I also finished the themings, and now I'm working on pushing some routes that were "missing" from GD4 and fixing any bugs I can find.
Apart from a bug that I have no idea how to fix (which is sprites duplicating on screen if skipping dialog too fast, which is why the skip button exists), everything works better than the original 3.5 engine builds. The highlights are the Android versions that are now fully touch-compatible and the resolution that automatically scales up or down without issue.
I also updated the game page on itch io to show the new Title and Title Screen as the background, this of course is only for Tier 2+ patrons to access. Now, about the project itself: It's gathering around 40 patrons per month every month and I'm grateful. Thanks to you all I'm able to make a bit more than the minimum wage here in my country which permits me to work full time on Just Friends instead of slaving myself at a regular job that would drain my sanity. So thank you all for your support.
I will add here some images of the new Just Friends build, and how menus and stuff work for now. I'm also going to add last month's patrons list from the Title Screen, because yes, from now on, paying members on Patreon have their names highlighted on the build they supported as long as they are paying members by the time the build was released.

What I love the most in the new Just Friends on Godot 4 is that most of those things are automatic. The patrons are added in this nifty list by using a python code I made, so it just grabs the .csv from patreon and organizes each tier for me, the name of the month on the top there is also automatically changed based on the system date.
Pushing the day files on the game are a bit weird with the new system created but for now it seems far more stable. If I want I can add three characters per screen now too.
This is literally me checking the text on the new editor. As a side note: For now, there's no instance where Johan, Wagner or Karnal meet in the same scene. It's just an option added in the engine itself, but I don't think they will meet until the last two days.
Of course, having multiple characters on screen is the reason why sometimes if dialog is skipped too fast, characters "duplicate" themselves. I will code something to make sure it's impossible to skip dialogs too fast on the mouse/keyboard. The skip dialog button literally disables characters so the game stops duplicating stuff. Reloading the game usually fixes the duplicated sprite though.

Thanks, this is a big step for the project, and it took me the last five months working nonstop. There are some kinks but they will eventually be fixed over time :)
